@ Axel
Eben.

Gruss Boris

WB adjustment is not supported on any Sony cinema cameras (Sony NEX-FS700, Sony PXW-FS5, Sony PXW-FS7) with ProRes RAW. Panasonic and Z Cam are the only two manufacturers whose cameras support both WB and ISO adjustments in Final Cut Pro X.

We know, we already learned this (in the FCP 10.4.9 thread). But clearly, obviously, there are now some efforts on Apples side to change this for the better. Bloom didn't have it with his pre-production model. But he publicly and prominently complained about it (to CVP I believe). Well, PRAW doesn't feel like real raw because it has to be developed with the normal color tools of FCP. And so there should be a new incentive for all three parties to make this cow fly. Where did you learn that the A7SIII didn't send metadata?

I don't know whether the metadata is in the files or not, but in the notes for the firmware update, Atomos says WB and ISO adjustments are not currently available in FCP X. We also do not know whether the gyro information for Catalyst Browse is in the metadata. My guess is 'no', since if it were, Atomos would probably brag about it. 😁

We know that the gyro stuff is in the XAVC-clips, because we saw demos. I doubt that they put it in the raw stream, but they certainly could. How hard can it be if Panasonic manages to do it?

hehe. Wow, that's a loaded question! 😂

According to Atomos/Assimilate:
One thing that frequently comes up in discussions is that ProRes RAW lacks white balance controls. This made some people doubt whether ProRes RAW can be considered a true RAW format. Whether or not a format can be called a RAW format first and foremost depends on what kind of data it stores. ProRes RAW stores a Bayer pattern and with that actual raw image information as opposed to an already debayered or baked in RGB/YUV image. blah, blah...
Antwort von pillepalle:
@ jonpais
This is surley right from a technical point of view. Nevertheless it's nice to adjust the white point with contols like white balance and tint. It's about usability.

So macht Raw keinen Spaß. So war das auch in der Dunkelkammer. Bilder ohne erkennbaren Grund verkackt?
