Auch neben der Digital Cinema Camera hat Blackmagic wieder einmal ein imposantes Produktfeuerwerk zur NAB gezündet, das erst einmal überblickt werden will. Die zweite große Neuigkeit war dabei wohl DaVinci Resolve 9. Nicht nur, dass das Update an sich kostenlos sein wird, auch die entsprechende, kostenlose Lite-Variante wird es weiterhin geben.
Größte Neuerung ist das zierlich umgekrempelte Interface, das nun deutlich verständlicher aufgebaut ist und in dem sich auch Nutzer von Editing-Applikationen besser zurechtfinden dürften. Unter anderem sollen viele unnötigen Mausklicks eliminiert worden und der Workflow an vielen Stellen getrafft wurden sein. Musste man bisher vor dem Start doch einige Parameter bestätigen, kann man nun tatsächlich mit drei Schritten loslegen: User einloggen, Medien ins Projekt ziehen und losgraden. Richtig gehört, man kann jetzt Medien auch direkt von der Harddisk in die Timeline ziehen.
Die Zahl der Räume wurde von zehn auf fünf reduziert (Media, Conform, Color, Gallery, Deliver), wobei Blackmagic erwähnt, dass keinerlei Funktionen weggelassen wurden, sondern diese nur besser eingegliedert wurden. Der Conform-Bereich ist mit seiner Multitrack-Timeline durchaus für szenische Editing-Vorhaben geeignet und sieht unter der neuen Haube auch einem typischen Schnittprogramm nicht unähnlich. Spezialeffekte und Titeler darf man allerdings nicht erwarten, jedoch gibt es druchaus Filter wie Schärfen und Weichzeichnen oder Transformationen um einen Clip mit hochwertigen Algorithmen geradezustellen oder zu skalieren. Und natürlich alles GPU-beschleunigt und auf schnellen Systemen immer in Echtzeit.
Insgesamt dürfte DaVinci Resolve mit dieser Version für eine noch breitere Anwenderschicht interessant werden, die sich bisher mit dem etwas UNIX-lastigen Workflow nicht anfreunden konnten.
