Erstens, bitte mein Deutsch verzeihen - is hoffentlich verstaendlich.
Ich habe ein Fernseher von England gebracht. Ich nutze meistens
satellit-TV, moechte aber manchmal Deutsche Kanalen von der
Kabelanschluss auch anschauen. Beim tuning der Fernseher "sieht" nur
Kanaele ab Nr 21 und ich bekomme kein ARD, ZDF usw fast nur die
Shopping Kanalen und die (;Gott sei dank ;-) ohne Ton.
Ich weiss dass diese Ton-Problem war vor SCART auch mit videos erkannt
aber mit SCART war es geloescht.
Dann bekam ich ein Gedankenblitz ;-) vielleicht das Problem waere mit
nutzung ein DVB-T geraet loeschbar. Was meinen Sie? Diesen -

A DVB-T receiver would fix the sound problem when connected by Scart.
But common cable TV does not provide DVB-T signals. You would need
an extra antenna. And you would be restricted to the stations locally
available via DVB-T, see here: http://ueberallfernsehen.de/

Thanks for such a quick reply!
I was under the impression that these DVB-T tuners only worked with
PCs but I guess that this is a set-top box, so if I understand you
correctly, I can just plug it into the TV and it will receive the
stations available locally which is what I need.
One additional question - I'm using a satellite box which has a "VCR
Scart" and a "TV Scart". When I used it previously with a DVD/VCR and
the DVD was switched on it would automatically override the satellite
signal with whatever was coming from the DVD/VCR. Am I right in
thinking that would be the case with this machine too? (;I only have 2
Scarts connectors on the TV and have a DVD HTS plugged into the other
one.)

Yes, this will work.

I guess it would. Normally the DVB-T receiver should be switched
off when watching satellite tv. If you want to cancel automatic
switching at all, you could disconnect Scart Pin 8.
