Frage von puissance:Hallo,
Frage ist auf englisch, sorry, kann aber auch gerne auf deutsch beantwortet werden - danke!
I have got a question concerning calibration with a Blackmagic Design Ultrastudio Mini Monitor that goes into my Eizo CG247 (from a Retina iMac with OS X Yosemite) display.
Most of my material is shown on the web, so I"d like to color grade for sRGB color space. I am using Final Cut Pro X 10.2 and Davinci Resolve 11.2.
As far as I understand the Mini Monitor outputs a 10-bit REC709 video signal. So my question is:
How do I calibrate my Eizo monitor correctly?
Do I have to select "SRGB" or "REC709" in the Eizo display’s mode menu, then let self-calibration start and everything is fine? And btw, is it better to use the display"s native color space or the SRGB color space? Do I have to set Gamma 2.2 or 2.4?
And: if I wanted to use eg. Eizo"s Color Navigator software or Argyll/dispcalGUI on my Mac with my X-Rite i1Display Pro (I heard that this would give more precise results than the Eizo"s in-built sensor), how can I do this, as the Mini Monitor only accepts signals from Final Cut Pro X and Davinci Resolve but not from every other software?
And finally: What is the exact advantage of using the Mini Monitor vs just using a miniDisplayPort to DisplayPort cable from my iMac directly to the Eizo – when I"m into sRGB output, not REC709?
Thank you very much!
Kind regards,
Mrtz
