Frage von Pierre Cat:I'm sorry to post in english in this german newsgroup, but it seems
the most relevant newsgroup to get some help with a Terratec product
(;absolutely no answer from them, despite several request to their
tech. support as a registered customer :-(; ).
My problems are with a Terratec Cinergy 600 TV. The image quality is
excellent (;I choose the card for this advantage), but I'm struggling
with two issues :
1) audio / video desynchronization when not using CinergyTV for
capture. I understand that CinergyTV is able to capture directly from
the internal audio decoded of the card, instead of the soundcard like
other software. But WinDVR is useless for me, is there a workaround to
achieve perfect sync for with capture software that cannot get the
audio stream from the capture card (;like WinDVR, VirtualVCR...) ?
2) CinergyTV often fails when starting a recording: the capture window
shows a frozen frame, or Cinergy capture a few seconds reporting a
very low frame rate (;4-5fps) and quickly shows a frozen frame.
Stopping the recording and restarting solve the issue, but
unfortunately this problem makes CinergyTV totally unreliable for
timed recording (;using the scheduler). The problem happens regardless
of the codec and its setting (;huffyuv, picvideo MJPEG...); increasing
the capture resolution increase the occurence of the problem, but when
a recording is successfully started, it goes to the end reliably.
I don't know if it is a bug in CinergyTV, in the capture driver, or a
system configuration problem: I'm using a VIA KT133a chipset which is
unfortunately well known for PCI problems issues, and ACPI is enabled
as I need "suspend to ram". Because of ACPI, most cards (;display, NIC,
soundcard and the capture card) are sharing the same IRQ#11. I'm
wondering if this could be the source of the problem, as the Terratec
README mention IRQ sharing (;a *requirement* of the PCI spec!) as non
supported. However, as I mentionned it one the above paragraph when a
recording is successfully started, it goes to the end reliably even
for several hours...
Many thanks in advance to those who may help me, and sorry again for
the english pollution in the newsgroup!

Antwort von Kristian Schmees:
Hi Pierre,
[Problems with Terratec Cinergy 600 TV]
short tip:
1. delete all Terratec-Software from your system, incusive driver.
2. try "FYL2000TV": http://auzol.narod.ru/index e.html
3. and use the WDM drivers for Philips SAA713x (;seen there)
As for me, i won't waste any longer time for Terratec-made Software.
Fly2000TV works well here, and captures sound directly from the TV card.
However, i cannot say whether dropped frames could still cause a sound
delay problem (;i don't have dropped frames).
regards
Kristian

As long as you are the only one, no problem ;-) I understand your
desperation using Cinergy TV and Terratec Drivers...
