Frage von jo morgentau:Hi there,
We are having problems with the output of our wav file sound effects. In our edit of a model animation we used the following sound file formats: aif, quick time and wav, everything comes through when put out via firewire using a Panasonic NV-GS70, except some of the the wav sound files. We are using Final cut 3 and OS 10.
This is a bit of an emergency situation, as we are working towards an important deadline, which is tonight, tomorrow the film is supposed to have it's premiere...
Some of the wav files work fine and appear once send trough the firewire. Others don't, they have exactly the same sound rate 48.000 and soundrecording origin, file information... ( We have tried to reduce the soundrate of the ones that don't work to 44100 and re imported them, in case that's the problem, but it didn't work either...) If we turn up the volume of my TV speakers, we can hear some very quiet, distorted sounds, but they don't come through properly.
We can hear all of the wav files in the sequence equally well when we play them trough the stereo/mac sound output (view: external video off). So the fault happens probably somewhere in the firewire transfer of data.
We also tried to take these files into a sound edit softare, and changed the file format to aif and quicktime, but once they were imported into final cut the same phenomenon occured.
Now we are about to export the whole sequence as a final cut movie, quicktime file to see if they might appear on there.
Does anyone know why this is, if it is a general feature of firewire and some wavfiles (which ones?), or a preference setting issue, a wav mac issue, a wav final cut issue...
Any help or advice extremly appreciated!
Many Thanks!
