Today I've got the Handyman 100 from ABC, Germany. I'ts poor material most plastic but the most disadvantage: The plate for the camera gives not the nessesary stability because I had to get rid if this little metall which normaly hold the plate in the position - but that is made for camcorders. So, please be aware of that. After I took off this little thing the plate itself is very small for the weight of the 5d - that means, if you take off the camera after using the camera looses the exact position you have to do it again. And last: The easiest way to balance the camera is to do it with the weight - not with the plate position, its close to impossible to tare it - the construction is completely poor.
After the balancing stuff the handyman works well - but as I said: Be aware of the main disadvantages ... besides: This item is from 2002 (all shops, forums and of course ABC themself holds back this information) as the video indicates (absolut poor quality like most DVD videos from that times) - ABC should say that - otherwise I myself whas not aware that they are selling things 7 years behind the developments .... What a shame for this german old factory - forget it! Still learning: ASK ALLWAYS FOR THE RELEASE YEAR OF YOUR OBJEKT OF DESIRE !!!!
