720p50 convert to Pal DVD 25p with episode pro

i have to convert a 720p50 clip for PAL DVD 25p. i tried it with compressor, final cut and episode but it's not as good as i expected. as the dvd has to work for small cinemas the quality has to be very good.
i'm not really sure about the settings in episode. can anybody help with the frame conversion. i had a look at the "advance frame rate" part in episode, but i'm not really sure how to set it right. is "twice the frame rate" right? i want to drop every second frame because otherwise the picture seems to be really blurry. can anybody help me to find the best settings for this conversion. thanks in advance. cheers alex

Der PAL DVD-Standard ist nicht 25p, sondern 50i. Dh 50 Halbbilder (unteres zuerst) und nicht 25 Vollbilder.

For a video DVD, you will have to skip every second frame and create a progressive MPEG 2 file at 25p. 50p is impossible on DVD. Smooth motion can only be kept by gong to 50i. Is an interlaced DVD something local cinemas will accept? I doubt that. You have to check this yourself, homework first!

Episode can't burn a video DVD, so what authoring software are you using to do that? Maybe you don't need Episode encoding at all.

Quality: can't be good, DVDs cannot store HD video. On that medium, the image will be blurry on the screen. No way to get around this. Period. So why DVD?

i think the easiest solution would be using toast titanium. it will reencode the video and burn a rather good video dvd. as a previous poster has already mentioned: the quality of a down converted clip for a dvd cannot be as good as HD.

Dies hier ist ein deutschsprachiges Forum. Wenn der Themenstarter deutsch nicht beherrscht, muss er sich an ein englischsprachiges Forum wenden.
