Sieht intressant aus.

...

Hi there, please see an impartial Rotolight users Demonstration Video here, clearly showing the effect of the Rotolight and its filter system which is an entirely different product :-

The official Rotolight Demonstration Video is also now available to view in HD here and also demonstrates very clearly the enormous differences of the Rotolight RL48 :-

We have also recently released an Add on Colour Filter Pack for Rotolight which includes 10 Filters and allows Rotolight to also be used as a Sidelight, Backwash, Fill Light and Kickers, with a wide variety of industry leading LEE Filter Gels. For full production information please visit our brand new website www.rotolight.com

Rotolight has just won TvBAY's "Best Lighting Product Award" as well as IBC "EyeCatcher" of the IBC Show 2009 and NAB Top Ten Hot New Product 2009. Rotolight sold over 1000 units in the first 10 days of Launch since IBC last month, and the first production run is now almost entirely sold out. Rotolight is sold all over the world from America to Africa, from India to Ukraine, Netherlands to Finland and beyond with thousands of highly satisfied customers and fantastic customer feedback.

But don't take my word for it, check out the following Video review of the product by IBC TV News :- Rotolight is featured at 1:38

http://www.ibc-tvnews.com/cgi-bin/video_play.cgi?id=776

There is a company who have designed a product that looks vaguely similar for consumer purpose as indeed you have noted. We have registered Design rights for the design for the Video Market and are aggressively protecting our rights with this regard as we speak, however there are massive differences between the two (I have tested one when it was recently brought to my attention) :-

For the test I used both an EX1 aswell as a JVC HM700, a Rotolight RL 48 Stealth including the 6 Filter Lee Filter System and Filter holder (all included), and a silver camping light i found following links on this forum.

There are enormous fundamental differences between the two:-

Most importantly the colour temperature is completely unusable for any Video use on this Silver Light - it is around 11,000 K and makes everything look extremely blue. It therefore renders the product completely useless for Video useage!!! I was not able to Auto-White Balance to the light and so produced horrible looking results with massively varied colours, but everything had a very blue tint.

Adjustable Colour Temperatures - Rotolight features a unique filter system specifically designed by world leading Gel company Lee Filters(www.leefilters.com), allowing the user to select between 5600K(Indirect Daylight) 4200K(Mixed Light) and 3200K (Tungsten). By removing the 223 filter from the Daylight setting you will get 6200K for Direct Daylight usage. Not only does Rotolight guarantee that you'll get within 50K of the colour temperature you want(Film Grade accurate), but the colour temperature is very quickly adjustable so that if your outside, indoors or in mixed light conditions you can very quickly adapt to the circumstance. Not only that, but we can very accurately Dim(from .5 stop to 1.5 stops) and diffuse our light provide infinite flexibility to the user!

LED Quality - We use Professional Grade LED's, the Silver LED features extremely inexpensive consumer LED's hence the pricepoint!

Materials/Build Quality - Our Product is built from a professional grade Rubberized Matt Black Finish - firstly this means it stays fixed in position on the shotgun mic due to the 'high grip' of this material, where the silver one slips around. Secondly, ours was selected for its acoustic properties so that it does not interfear with the sound quality of the Mic. On the subject of sound, the Rotolight always sits very securely at the back of the Shotgun Mic, and the louvres are generally always at the front so there is no interfearance in sound quality at all.

Battery Life - We guarantee at least 3 hours continuous use, the Silver gets nowhere near that.

OutDoor Use - Our Product is WaterResistant and can therefore be used for the enormous ENG market, this silver light definately can not be and could be extremely dangerous if it started to rain or snow.

Circuit Board Quality - The Silver is using a completely different electronics which is very inexpensive and very poor quality, likely to fail very quickly. Rotolight features custom deigned circuit boards, much higher quality soldering, components, connectors, wiring and insulation, all in all completely different electronics.

. Switch Quality - The Silver Light is using an extremely inexpensive Switch which will fail at some point with constant use. We use a much higher quality custom made switch.

. Warranty - Such is the build quality of our product we provide a 1 Year Warranty to guarantee its quality.

Numerous impartial users have emailed in their experience of using Rotolight and please find the most recent of those verbatim below :-

"I use the Rotolight RL48 Stealth with a JVC GY HM100 Camera to shoot HD in the Forbidden City and the hardsleeper night-trains in China... it was a very good experience using the Rotolight as a fill in light and also as a light source to reduce light in low light conditions... i think it is very useful"

" Now you can have a fill in light with no problems for facial shots, no big halogen camera-light and no heavy batteries anymore. Great!"

Wim Goddyn, Programmer Maker, Millenium Maker , www.millennium-media.nl

As a final note, we are also in final stages of Development of a fantastic 'Rotolight Arm' that will allow you accessory shoe mount Rotolight to any accessory shoe, boom pole, or SLR Camera, for those who prefer not to Shotgun Mount or would prefer the flexibility of a bendable arm and different lighting positions. This is expected to ship in January and will fit to all existing Rotolight RL48 Stealth units.

If you have any questions at all, please feel free to contact me anytime on the details below.

Hi there, whilst people are free to discuss their opinions, it is simply not correct to say the Rotolight has a low light output and works only at 10cm.

We only use Grade A LED's and they are as bright as LED's can be, they are 2200 MCD(Micro-Candles).

In any of the Video's posted above you can see very clearly that the Rotolight provides excellent light output at several meters distance. In the official Rotolight Video, the subject is 2.3 meters away.

In the User Rotolight Video on Vimeo, some of the subject and back-walls are over 4 meters away. Indeed, in the last shot, in the church it is very low light and provides excellent lighting.

Where did you buy your Rotolight from? Are you sure it is a Black Rotolight RL48 Stealth as no-one has ever mentioned a poor light-ouput. Please feel free to contact me or your Dealer and I will happily exchange the product for you if it is faulty, as the Light output of Rotolight is excellent and extremely good value for money at 99 euros.

As a Director of Rotolight, I will make any reader of this forum or any potential Rotolight customer the following offer.

If you purchase a Rotolight RL48 Stealth, and are not entirely satisfied firstly that it is a completely different product from the consumer silver camping light mentioned in this forum, OR that you were not in any way satisfied with the results you achieved with the Rotolight, I will personally happily give you a full refund.

To Take up my offer you can call or email me anytime on sales@rotolight.com, or call on 08707 605 713, or visit my website www.appleworld-distribution.com (UK Rotolight Distribution).

Please feel free if you would like to arrange a demonstration and I will happily arrange one for you.

Whilst I am obviously biased, I genuinely think you will struggle to find a professional LED light at Rotolights pricepoint 99 Euros, that achieves the quality of results Rotolight provides, gives you 3 different colour temperatures, a diffusion filter and is dimmable, is self powered, weighs less than 6 ounces and is weather resistant. I am certainly not aware of any.

I hope you will take up my offer and try a Rotolight today.

Yours Sincerely,
Rod Aaron Gammons
