Ähnlich wie damals bei der Rocky Horror Picture Show, bei dem das Publikum nicht wie üblich still aus den Sitzen glotzte, sondern ua. die Leinwand mit Reis bewarf, generiert seit Jahren ein Kinofilm beachtliches Interaktionspotential, allerdings kraft seiner überwältigenden Grottigkeit. The Room, von ua. dem Guardian als der möglicherweise schlechteste Film aller Zeiten klassifiziert, hat sich seit seinem Erscheinen in 2003 einen erheblichen Kultstatus erobert. Unter anderem ein Londoner Kino zeigt ihn seit Jahren einmal im Monat, zur großen Freude der lauthals johlenden Zuschauer. Im Rahmen des Festivals B-Film Basterds, das zu Gast im Berliner Sputnik-Kino ist, hat man am 10.7. die seltene Gelegenheit, dieses spektakuläre Werk zu bestaunen.
Ihr seht mich vielleicht, ´nen toten Rottweiler Gassi führen, im Park, ohne Kopf, aber mit Nietenhalsband, wie ich ihn anschreie, weil das Mistvieh nicht zu bellen aufhören will.
Ein Klassiker! Der würdige Nachfolger ist in Sicht: "reduser" Ketch Rossi mit gefühlt zehn Millionen Posts redet seit Jahren von seinem Spielfilm "Rape of a Beauty", den er alleine umsetzen will: Drehbuch, Regie, Kamera, Hauptrolle (!). Hat angeblich nur auf "den Dragon" gewartet und will jetzt loslegen. Ein peinlicher Vergewaltigungs-Trailer namens "The RED Dress" gedreht mit RED-Unterstützung (warum auch immer) war inhaltlich wie filmisch so unterirdisch, dass das Werk innerhalb von Stunden aus dem Web getilgt wurde. Wohl von RED erzwungen. Wie auch immer: der Typ kann NICHTS, das war The Room 2. Ich habe es zuerst gesagt: Ketch Rossi wird der neue Tommy Wiseau. Freut euch drauf!

Auf Vimeo erzählt er seine Lebensgeschichte (Man hört im Hintergrund geradezu Eye Of The Tiger, so hollywoodreif ist die Story):
My name is Ketch Rossi, I was born in a very small Italian town in the Island of Sardegna, from were I was taken to main land Italy at the age of 4, till I was 11, at which time my parents returned to the Island on a country farm, were I leaved for 7 years, without running water or electricity. Times were incredibly hard, were we didn't ever had fresh brad, or any brad at all at times, and our unfortunate economic situation took my stepfather to alcoholism from which He became very cruel with me, I would get bit up constantly for not good reason at all,

...always in fear of my own shadow, never mind of his.
Yet it was in part because of this extremely harsh conditions in my early life that helped strengthen me, and pushed me to follow my dreams no matter what. Following this dream I moved to America at a very young age, in March of 1989 to be precise, were I arrived in NY, Manhattan with only a $100 bill in my pocket after I paid the taxi, but my determination and perseverance, kept me strong, and always kept me going, my dream of becoming a Filmmaker, was all that matter to me, not the hardships of life, none of that mattered. Shortly after that same year, I had earned enough money and moved to Los Angeles, "HOLLYWOOD" the moment I had waited my all life for! Here, while still working in the Restaurant business to support my self, I visited every Movie set I could for the next 20+ years, and while I was becoming a good Photographer, knowing how important Lighting is to an image, I was learning the Cinematography arts in the shadows of some of the greatest Filmmakers in Hollywood.
Despite some Ups and Downs, more Downs then Ups, with some life threatening close calls do to extremely serious medical conditions, that demanded the need to go under the knife several times, even causing a Near Death experience post Kidney transplant, Kidney which was donated by my beloved "Angel" Sister, thanks to which now I am better and enjoying a second chance to life and my Dreams. Unfortunately that forced me to leave the USA and my dreams with it, and for a while I tough it was it, even if deep inside I always knew it was not it, I always knew I would come back to America to continue on, and so I did.
Against Doctors orders and every one in my family, I returned to America to persevere my Dreams, meeting new great people in the Film industry and having finally the chance to also Produce, Direct and Film something my self, at last been able to see what I could do behind a camera, and also show others what I could do, what I wanted to do. It is because of that perseverance and passion that never left my side, that today I have arrived at the very pinnacle of that dream, still extremely passionate and dedicated to Cinematography, still persevering my dream... But today I am at that very last step... Today I am leaving that DREAM...
