Der micro-HDMI-Anschluss ist nicht nur ein Problem, weil es "micro" ist, sondern die Löttechnik scheint bei BMD m.M. generell ein Problem zu sein.
Genau das meinte ich damit :)
Da ich recht spät zur Pocket kam und das Problem bereits bekannt war, hab ich sie einfach von Anfang an mit einem HDMI Adapter+Lock betrieben und nie ein Problem in der Hinsicht gehabt. Andere waren da immer noch eher YOLO unterwegs :(

Vermutlich das gleiche wie mit einer Alexa^^. Letztere war dann aber eben zB nach dem Sandsturm nicht gleich hops. Aber generell gibt es viele Menschen mit dem Motto "don't be gentle, it's a rental"... Auffällig waren die Probleme bei Red dennoch, von der R1 will ich gar nicht erst reden, aber die war schließlich auch "Erstlingswerk"^^.
Zur Zuverlässigkeit gehört halt mehr als ein schickes Äußeres...
*edit: okay RED scheint nach wie vor einen gewissen Ruf zu haben (anbei anekdotisch):
I just wrapped a feature using 2 V-Raptors. The image is great, highish iso is clean (up to 3200 for my personal taste) - all around a good looking camera. RED’s raw is great to work with in post, and offers plenty of flexibility in color. The body is a nice size that even when built out, myself or my operators can shoot handheld all day without any issues.
That being said, I do not love this camera, or any RED for that matter. I had both bodies shut down multiple times for unknown reasons, once during a take. It would ask to calibrate at the most inconvenient times. I wasn’t able to undercrank 6fps with a 360 shutter, it has limitations in that department. The overall build quality, QC of RED simply doesn’t match up to Arri or even a Sony Venice. As a company, I know a few too many details about how the founder poorly treated some people who helped him out in the beginning, and don’t get me started on the Compressed Raw monopoly.
Will I keep shooting on RED? Yes, if that’s what the production asks or the projects calls for certain things that the RED can deliver. It’s raw codec is quite forgiving, and the form factor is nice.
DSMC3 REDs like the raptor have had a ton of issues. I've used them on countless sets and have had 2 separate problems come up. I also find the raptor and komodo to be a bit clunky with their design: only fit micro v mounts out of the box, less modularity than a DSMC2, forced RF mount even though we're decades behind the lens selection EF and PL have, most monitors have a cable, flimsy antennae. I also find the komodo to have a very strange looking image compared to all other reds.
They do have problems and frankly I’ve been on too many sets where Red sends one of their top techs to DIT, but really he’s there to troubleshoot. The cameras themselves can make great images, but as an owner operator I do think Red is taken a bit less seriously because you get lumped in with the douchey film bros who buy them.

I’ve been a long time red user and owner going all the way back to the Red One MX, and all the bs about bugs and instability is true with the cutting edge stuff, but once a product gets mature it’s rock solid, so long as it’s been taken care of.
However, Red, especially in its formative years, was marketing towards owner operators who were generally cheap and treated/accessorized their cameras like shit, and so they had a ton of problems (usually related to cheap power plates and even cheaper batteries). And that helped fan the flames of reds having problems beyond the normal production problems.
But if you owned your own camera, and didn’t cheap out on the accessories and upkeep, you had an incredibly dependable camera that you can shoot on for years and years.
For example, I just shot a project out in the desert for 2 weeks with two DSMC1 dragons and it preformed perfectly. No bugs or issues with overheating, and I was incredibly happy with the images we got. And those cameras are almost 10 years old at this point.
