Atomos Shinobi II Kamera Steuerung Sony Alpha 7 III

ich habe jetzt den o.g. Monitor von dem ich auch echt begeistert bin. Ich habe gelesen, dass ich meine Kamera via Kabel auch über den Monitor steuern kann.
Dazu habe ich neben dem HDMI Kabel ein USB-C Kabel im Monitor indie PD Buchse gesteckt und in der Kamera in den SSD Eingang gesteckt. In der Kamera habe ich den USB Anschluß auf Auto eingestellt.
Im Monitor und in der Kamera erscheint dann USB Verbindung wird eingestellt - doch es passiert nichts weiter.

Was fehlt mir jetzt noch zum Glück ? Was mache ich Falsch ?

Atomos ist da leider ziemlich undurchsichtig welche Kameras genau unterstützt werden und welche Funktionen überhaupt über den Monitor gesteuert werden können.
Es gibt soweit ich weiß keine offizielle Liste mit unterstützen Kameras von Atomos.

Ok, vor 2 Wochen gab es die Liste noch nicht.

In der Kamera habe ich den USB Anschluß auf Auto eingestellt.

Kannst Du das nicht auf "Remote Shoot (PC Remote)" einstellen?

Kann es sein, dass man ein spezielles Atomos-Kabel benötigt?
Anderserseits: APS-C ist APS-C - und bei Dir wäre es mit der A7 III ja beidseitig.

Ich lese da etwas von "USB-to-serial cable ATOMCAB004", aber das gilt wohl nur, wenn kameraseitig eine 2.5mm-Klinkenbuchse für "Remote" vorhanden ist.
Bei den kompatiblen Sony's sehe ich auf der Atomos-Seite die A7 IV, aber nicht die A7 III.

Die A7III hat auch einen Remote Stecker, der ist jedoch eher für Fotofernauslöser gedacht

Solange deine Sony Camera nicht auf der Atomos Liste drauf ist, was sie nicht ist, wird das wahrscheinlich Nix mit der Kamera Steuerung über den Shinobi II.

Hallo

und wieder etwas schlauer geworden. Ich habe heute es noch einmal probiert und siehe da es funktioniert - aber nicht wenn ich 4K filmen will. Es geht nur wenn ich HD Filmen will und das will ich dann wieder nicht :-)

We are sorry to hear you are having this problem.

Please make sure that your Shinobi II is running the 11.01 firmware version and that the Sony A7SIII is running the 3.02 firmware version.
Perform a factory reset on the Shinobi II from the Info menu and also reset your Sony A7SIII.

Here are the complete instructions for Shinobi II's camera control setup.



To utilize the Shinobi II’s powerful new Camera Control feature, please follow the setup instructions down below:

Navigate to the Control menu.
a. You can either get there by pressing the camera icon in the top menu, which should have a text label saying “Inactive” next to it, the first time you boot up the Shinobi II.
b. Press anywhere on the top menu bar, and select the Control menu tab once the main menu opens.
Once you’re in the Control menu, set the Device Type to Camera, by pressing the underlined text saying Off.
Ensure that the Connection is set to USB (or LanC for Z CAM).
Connect the included USB-C cable to both the Shinobi II and the camera’s USB-C port (or use Atomos USB-C to Serial cable for Z CAM).
Next, connect the camera to the Shinobi II via an HDMI cable.
Power on your camera and switch it into Movie mode.
a. Some cameras will automatically detect that they’re connected to a “Control” device. If yours does, skip to step 8.
b. If your camera doesn’t detect the Shinobi II automatically, check its USB Settings. For Camera Control, it should be set to Tethering/Remote Shooting.
If your camera is detected by the Shinobi II, check if the Manufacturer and Camera Model are displayed correctly in the Control menu.
1. The Camera Control icon in the bottom row menu (2nd to the left) should’ve turned from Grey to White now.
Pressing the Camera Control icon, will bring up the Record Trigger, White Balance, Shutter Speed, Aperture, and ISO controls in the bottom row menu.
a. The displayed settings should match what the camera is currently set to. If any of these settings are set to Auto on the camera, you might not be able to control them, but you’ll still see them updating live on the Shinobi II, whenever they change in the camera.
b. For maximum control, we recommend setting the camera to manual exposure and white balance mode.
Close the main menu and start controlling your camera.
