Please Advise Will North American DVD-R's play in UK DVD players? - (2) DSR-11 and 'Copy Inhibit'? - "Valerie Shoaps" Hi, Legal issues aside --- I need to capture a scene for a client for a project for their personal use. Please see above again. Anyway, I'm trying to get the clip from a dvd. I'm using an Apex 3201 and have Macrovision disabled (via the 8-4-2-1 menu). I've tried taking the y/c into a VX-2000, but it's still flagging and complaining "copy inhibit". Does anyone know if a DSR-11 will allow this, or will I have the same problem? A Canon GL-1? Thanks, Valerie Creative Cow Forum Leader -AVID -Adobe Premiere ________________________ http://www.creativecow.net DSR-11 and 'Copy Inhibit'? - "Valerie Shoaps" >Sounds like the menu option to disable Macrovision is not doing the job. That's what it seems like to me. This is a fairly well know 'tweak' for the 3201's, so I'm really surprised that it's not working. >But, I "think" it will pass through the video signal, so that you can >capture it via firewire. No, I tried that. I can view the movie via the LCD. However, as soon as I attach the firewire cable - nothing passes through, either to my system or to another camera via 1394 (said camera doesn't have analog in - I'd try that if it did). Pretty clever, huh? I tried using a couple of 'rippers', and then went to .avi from the .vob's, but the motion is a bit jerky. Yeah, and I can't have that, plus trying to find one of those decks would be 'difficult'. I thought of picking up a Canopus ADVC-100 (as it has a disabling feature), but I've read on the Avid-L about it having a 3 field delay (frame slippage) both in and out, which won't be acceptable. Please Advise - "Perry Mitchell" From: vinny After nearly 15 years of searching, I have finally obtained an old, obscure movie (circa 1935) on VHS. I have a friend in the UK who is anxious to see it. Now I was aware there would be a format conflict (NTSC/PAL) if I were to just make a VHS copy and send it to him. So I digitally converted it to a mini-DV tape. My next thought was to take it from there and have it burned to a DVD and send it to him. That of course was until I read all the related responses to the current string on North American DVD's playing in the UK. Now I am thinking he might have a better chance viewing the mini-DV tape I made. Or would there be a "standard" problem with that too? I guess my question is; "If I were to send him the mini-DV tape, would he be able to play it back through any mini-DV camcorder plugged into a TV in the UK? Notwithstanding all the usual compatibility issues, what are the >chances of it playing on UK set top players? >thanks >Andy >Imagine newmedia Pretty good, since lots of people in the U.K. purchases Region 1 (NTSC) discs. Most players are even region free. :-) Will North American DVD-R's play in UK DVD players? - "Perry Mitchell" From: Andy Perry, I use a Pioneer A03 and Spruceup. I dont think theres any way to specify a region. Is there any way to check on the finished DVD? (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
