Stop-Motion-Extrem: Mit dem Fotoapparat Werbeclips "filmen" von rob - 5 Aug 2008 11:55:00
Drei Clips, die mit aufwendiger Stop-Motion-Animation von der australischen Regisseurin Liz Murphy umgesetzt wurden. Es muss also nicht immer 3D oder eine Filmkamera sein. Zum Einsatz kam die neue Dragon Stop Motion Software, sowie eine Canon 1D MkIIIs und eine 40D. Die beeindruckenden Clips gibt es hier, hier und hier zu sehen. Die Kamerastative und Dollies wurden mit minimal 3 Lasern feinjustiert und teilweise weniger als 1 mm pro Frame bewegt ...

Soweit mir bekannt ist, wurde das Musikvideo zu "Daysleeper" von R.E.M. auch - zumindest teilweise - mit einer 35mm SLR "gedreht", damals noch auf Film.

Ihr meint sicher die 1Ds MkIII :-)

Wurden die "Außenaufnahmen" auch im Studio gedreht oder wie hat das mit dem Licht geklappt, die ja während des gesamten Clips konstant bleibt?

Für alle, die von diesem Stop-Motion-Clips "völlig überrascht" sind: es empfiehlt sich eben auch mal einen Blick in die Filmgeschichte. Da stößt man dann eventuell auf Emile Cohl, der sowas schon und dazu noch wesentlich extremer in der Zeit von 1907-1920 gemacht hat... Entsprechende Infos gibt es bei Wikipedia, Filmausschnitte bei Youtube und eine ganz tolle Homepage aus Frankreich...

I will have to reply in English, so I hope you can read it!

Thanks for the interest in these ads. They were some of the most technically demanding shoots we have ever attempted. All of 3 of the sets were built in one warehouse in Brisbane, Australia - just up the road from the Taxi Film offices.

The background on the 'Build' set was actually done with a giant green screen and a separate animation was shot with careful timing and then composited into the background.

You will also notice that the camera moves constantly throughout each of the ads. This was incredibly complicated to achieve because no computer-operated motion control exists that could maneuver through the sets as required. So we marked out the increments of the camera positions on long wooden sticks and used laser pointers to on 3 axis to calculate the trajectory and speed of each camera movement.

We also shot at a full 25fps instead of the standard 12fps that animators normally use - this way we could ensure control the smoothness of the movement in both the camera and the objects.
