Seine Meinung zu Filmschulen: When people ask me if I went to film school I tell them, no, I went to films... rather than go to film school, get a camera and make a movie - trying to make a film yourself with no money is the best film school you can do.
Nolan: “I think it was Stanley Kubrick who said that the best way to learn how to make a film is to make a film, and I’ve certainly found that to be the case. When you’re making films with friends on a shoestring, you have to be able to do all the jobs yourself. When we made Following we were shooting on Saturdays because we all had jobs during the week, and sometimes people wouldn’t turn up. So on the larger films, I knew enough about every job on the set to be a pain in the ass to everybody.
"Just get a camera and make a movie, you learn more in four weeks than in four years of film school.
"Anderson attended film school for only two days, preferring to learn the craft by watching films by the filmmakers he liked, as well as watching films accompanied by director's audio commentary."
Kubrick: “The best thing that young filmmakers can do is to get a camera and make a movie of any kind”
Terry Gilliam's Meinung zu Filmschulen: “Film school is for fools. Get your camera and live and learn how to make films. I watched a lot of movies, I didn’t go to film school and the greatest education I had is actually making films. So make a movie.”
