Besonders schön, wenn man mitten im Projekt auf Dropbox wechseln muß - Grrrrrr!
Blackmagic Design has issued an important update. Due to Google discontinuing its Google Drive sync support, Blackmagic Design will soon have to remove support from all Blackmagic Cloud Store products. It’s possible existing Google Drive syncs could still work, but they expect it to stop working at any time. Syncing with Blackmagic Cloud or Dropbox is recommended.
With Blackmagic Cloud you can setup a local cache of your Dropbox and Google Drive files. This makes working much faster because files are instantly available without needing to be loaded from the internet. Blackmagic Cloud Store will constantly work to stay in sync. You can also save space on your computer by moving cached Dropbox and Google Drive files to the Blackmagic Cloud Store so they are accessible to everyone on your local network. You can even sync multiple Blackmagic Cloud Stores via Dropbox and Google Drive so people in different geographic locations can collaborate without latency because everyone has a local copy of the files.
With Google Drive support being removed users will have to come up with alternative solutions.
Today we want to let you know about a recent situation that has affected Blackmagic Cloud Store, Blackmagic Cloud Store Mini, Blackmagic Cloud Pod, Blackmagic Cloud Store Max and Blackmagic Cloud Dock. Unfortunately, due to Google discontinuing support, we will have to remove Google Drive sync settings in an upcoming software update.
While we hoped to continue offering this feature, this change was beyond our control. Although some customers may still have limited success syncing existing projects, Google is expected to fully withdraw support soon, disabling all syncing.
However, you can still continue to sync files to the Blackmagic Cloud website and Dropbox, to allow the distribution of files globally. Blackmagic Cloud has been designed specifically for the film and television industry, allowing you to sync large media files without restrictions.
