DVL-Digest 1608 - Postings: Index Regional Compatibility Regional Compatibility - "Perry Mitchell" From: David Mowbray I think the original poster was trying to make the following point: If you just make a DVD on a home burner, like the Pioneer A05 etc using DVDit or whatever other program is bundled, the DVD will have NO region code and can be played on any DVD player (as long as it can play NTSC). The poster was trying to say that the only time you might get into trouble is if you explicitly force your DVD to be for a specific region - such as Region 1 for North America. This is not possible with most bundled DVD creation programs. Even then it might not matter. In Nigeria I bought a relatively inexpensive Toshiba DVD player and though the box said it was designed to play only Region 2 DVDs, the fact is, it plays all regions and both NTSC and PAL.
