DVL-Digest 1124 - Postings: Index DV Time Code & Blacking Tapes DV Time Code & Blacking Tapes - "Perry Mitchell" From:John Jackman My tests of capture using the Canopus codec inside of Premiere have been frame accurate. However, there appear to be several problem in FCP that crop up. I didn't mess with 3.0 enough to know if they got fixed. The first is that FCP freaks at time code breaks, INCLUDING skipped frames. This is what Perry was trying to explain earlier. This is an entirely soluble problem, something they NEED to fix. Premiere doesn't give a rip if there are skipped frames, just looks for IN fame and OUT frame. I have heard this frame accuracy problem re FCP from a number of reliable sources, and my assumption is that FCP indeed has a problem with this issue. Again, this is not inherent to the format, but to the codec and the software. I cannot see any reason why this couldn't be fixed -- As Nick & others pointed out, the TC is embedded in each frame and should be as accurate as VITC if implemented properly. None of this solves Danny's problem if he's using FCP. (diese posts stammen von der DV-L Mailingliste - THX to Adam Wilt and Perry Mitchell :-) [up] |
